Our Ingredients

The importance of Greek herbs and aromatic plants is of particular interest, not only in medicine but also in people’s daily lives and is known since ancient times until today. We utilize the unique knowledge inherited to us by Aristotle, Hippocrates, Theophrastus, Dioscorides, Galen for the plants and herbs of Greek nature and combine this knowledge with the latest scientific discoveries.

Prebiotics (organic origin)

Recent scientific studies on the human microbiome have concluded that prebiotics are good for our skin and armpit bacteria. These are the nutrients (fructose-oligosaccharides and inulin) which nourish and help the already existing beneficial bacteria of the microbiome to be developed, to be maintained and to fight the bad bacteria that exist in our body and are responsible for the unpleasant odor. Stress, pollution and UV radiation, combined with the use of inappropriate deodorants and unsuitable cleansing soaps, can modify the microbial populations of the armpit by removing all the good bacteria we need. However, prebiotic ingredients, such as xylitol and inulin, nourish the good underarm bacteria, remove bad odors and at the same time strengthen skin& defense against environmental attacks by restoring the beneficial microbial flora.

Organic Wild Olive Oil

For the ancient healing, the most exquisite olive oil was the one given by the wild olive. Pliny the Elder in his work Naturalis Historia states that this oil was rare and was produced by “gently” crushing the olive without the intervention of hot water. Wild olive oil (Olea Sylvestris Oil) is rich in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants and contains oleic acid and other fatty acids and triglycerides. Its higher content (than in extra virgin olive oil) in polyphenols oleocanthal, oleasin and oleuropein in combination with the large amounts of phytosterols and squalene makes wild olive oil to have a strong antioxidant effect. At the same time, because of all these natural nutrients it contains, wild olive oil regulates and maintains the oiliness of the skin barrier, helps maintain epidermal moisture, softens skin and preserves its strength and elasticity, leaving a silky feeling.

Organic Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera, known for its medicinal, healing and cosmetic properties since ancient times, is a miraculous plant with more than 75 nutrients. The high content of Aloe Vera in water (99%), in combination with the nutrients and vitamin complexes it contains, results to deep hydration and nourishment of the skin, and contributes to the fight against toxins and free radicals. It contains a number of powerful antioxidants (polyphenols) which according to scientific research, help reduce the population of harmful bacteria. The fungicidal and antimicrobial action of the plant prevents infections caused by small abrasions created from shaving the armpit. At the same time it relieves itching and suppresses bleeding caused from shaving. Its anti-inflammatory, detoxifying and antimicrobial action has excellent moisturizing, regenerating and healing properties for the skin.

Natural Deodorant Crystal

Deodorant crystal (alum powder) is a natural mineral with antiperspirant, deodorant and antibacterial properties. It is the best natural alternative to hydrated chlorine aluminum salts found most often in commercial antiperspirants. It has a long history of safe use and is not absorbed by the body. Deodorant crystal is a known astringent with anti-microbial activity. It prevents the growth of microorganisms that cause unpleasant odors. The inhibition of body odor causing bacteria is an important strategy for deodorization and the main action of the ingredient. In addition, deodorant crystal exhibits antiperspirant action to some extent. When used as a deodorant, the volume of sweat produced is reduced by narrowing sweat ducts (astringents are substances that cause contraction or shrinkage of tissues), without clogging the pores. We think that blocking the skins pores completely is not advisable and that the physiological action of the skin should be left intact as far as possible, allowing natural sweating and natural detoxification of the body.

Castor Oil

The choice of using castor oil in the composition of our deodorant is not by chance. Recently it has gained a lot of publicity due to its excellent anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and emollient properties. It is rich in ricinoleic acid, a monounsaturated fatty acid that acts as a moisturizer, and is used for skin deep hydration and skin hydrolipid barrier restoration. It is also used for relieving dry, irritated skin. Studies have shown that when castor oil is applied topically, it reduces inflammation and swelling and relieves pain. Its antimicrobial properties help fight bacterial overgrowth by inhibiting the growth of several bacteria, including Staphylococcus aureus. Finally, it helps heal skin wounds by promoting the growth of new tissue and preventing the accumulation of dead skin cells.

Chamomile Extract

It is widely used for its soothing, anti-inflammatory, emollient and antimicrobial properties, as well as for being anti-irritant, non-itchy and hypoallergenic. The active flavonoid compounds it contains, due to their vasodilating action, increase blood flow to the skin and accelerate the healing of damaged skin (from abrasions, wounds, irritations) thus soothing it and relieving any discomfort. Due to its ability to neutralize skin irritants it is ideal for use on sensitive skin. Having the ability to penetrate below the surface of the skin (due to the ingredients chamazulene and α-bisabolol) it promotes the absorption of the other active components of the deodorant and ensures its maximum action.

Provitamin B5 (Panthenol)

It is a small miracle for the underarm skin, as it helps moisturize the deeper layers of the skin, improving not only its softness and elasticity but also the texture and tone of the skin. Thanks to its regenerative properties, the function of the epidermal barrier in the armpit is restored and the renewal of its cells is accelerated, thus enhancing the overall health of the skin. Due to its strong anti-inflammatory properties it reduces redness and inflammation caused by abrasions or cuts, and relieves armpit from irritation. Therefore, it is also ideal for sensitive, rough and irritated skin.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E in our deodorant acts as a natural preservative, since it is a powerful natural antioxidant that prevents our products from rancidity (oxidation) and at the same time acts as an emollient. It is a fat-soluble vitamin with antioxidant properties to the body and it contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress, which is responsible for various diseases and the aging of tissues. Thanks to its ability to “freeze” time, vitamin E is well-known and very popular especially among the female population. In addition to its action against body oxidation, it contributes to the health of the skin since it maintains the integrity of the lipid components of the skin and protects against photoaging (premature formation of wrinkles, uneven skin texture, formation of freckles and spots). It can also protect or delay the progression of various skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, vitiligo and acne.

Organic Lavender Essential Oil

The calming fresh floral aroma of this oil relieves stress and improves mood. Lavender essential oil has multiple properties: analgesic, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, disinfectant and healing. Lavender oil works to kill bacteria, reduces inflammation (thanks to beta-caryophyllene in the oil) and helps cleanse your skin. It reduces spots, redness and irritation, and soothes eczema and dry skin. If you have burns, cuts, scrapes, or other injuries (e.g.from shaving), lavender oil may help speed up the wound-healing process and, according to researchers, promotes the healing of skin tissue.

Organic Lemon Essential Oil

The strong, pure citrus aroma of lemon essential oil makes it one of the most easily recognizable oils with a refreshing and fresh scent. It is the ideal oil for inhibiting the growth of viruses and bacteria because of two dominant compounds found in it, limonene and b-pinene, and is very effective against infections. As an antiseptic, it helps restore skin natural balance, removes dead cells and reduces excess sebum. Its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties help relieve skin irritations and improve damaged tissue. Its detoxifying, stringent, disinfectant and antifungal properties accelerate the healing process, promote the renewal of skin cells and freshen it, giving a sense of rejuvenation and positive mood.

Organic Tea Tree Essential Oil

Tea tree’s natural antiseptic and anti-inflammatory action make it one of the most beneficial essential oils that should be contained in a deodorant. Its cleansing and antimicrobial properties make it a great, natural way to support armpit detoxing and reduce body odor because it can combat fungi that live in warm, moist environments (like the inside of our armpits). Tea tree’s primary active ingredients include terpene hydrocarbons, monoterpenes and sesquiterpenes and these compounds give its antibacterial and antifungal activity. Tea tree oil is one of the top antibacterial essential oils which can help kill off the bacteria responsible for sweat’s scent. It is well-known for its powerful antiseptic properties and ability to treat wounds, heal skin issues and treat skin infections. It works as a powerful disinfectant and is ideal in order to fight skin infections and irritations.

Geranium Essential Oil

The wonderful combination of flower and mint that characterizes geranium and the fact that it acts as an agent which controls the production of sebum, makes it a wonderful deodorant with long duration. Geranium oil is a circulatory oil, which means that it exits the body through perspiration. Now your sweat will smell like flowers! A natural and beneficial aroma that in daily use keeps you fresh all day. Known for its potent antimicrobial and antibacterial properties against 24 different types of bacteria and fungi, does not allow germs and bacteria to grow in wounds, eliminates body odors and keeps us safe from infections.

Organic Rosemary Essential Oil

Α popular essential oil known for its ability to ignite feelings of refreshment and invigoration with a woody, evergreen-like scent. Its mesmerizing aroma, makes this essential oil an amazing odor blocker and a stress reliever. Scientists have identified specific chemicals that give rosemary deodorizing and antioxidant properties. Moreover, its high antioxidant activity has been attributed to its main chemical constituents, including carnosol, carnosic acid, ursolic acid, rosmarinic acid and caffeic acid. Since oxidative stress plays an important role in underarm odor, rosemary may help reduce sweating. Βecause of its antimicrobial and skin improving qualities, rosemary oil removes the bacteria on the skin that feeds on the protein and lipids in the sweat and causes body odor. Rosemary oil may help to reduce tissue inflammation and is thought to fight antibiotic-resistant bacteria strains.
